"I Gotta Feeling"

A layout finally! I love these pics of my baby boy and held onto them forever! He loved the song "I gotta feeling" by the black eyed peas and so I thought the pictures fit nicely with that title. I used the cricut for the car (B is for boy) and the Gypsy for the title. Everything else is hand pieced, drawn, or cut. I wanted the layout to be playful like my son is. Tfl!

Rejoice!

I made this card using pink paislee pp and gold metallic paper from colorbok. I also used my Gypsy to cut out the ornament (Christmas solutions cart). The Rejoice is hard to see and is more noticeable in real life but hey what can you do? I cut that using the weld feature on the Gypsy...love that feature!

Christmas Wreath card

front

inside

Here is a card I made using the Gypsy and cricut. I used the Christmas solutions cart for the sign and wreath. I welded the signs together to make a card within itself and then glued that on the front. I also cut the wreath twice obce regular once shadowed and popped it up with adhesive foam. The "berries" were made using studio g glitter glue. Pp is Dcwv Christmas combo stack. I'm really loving that cart! :)

Catching up with my Christmas Cards.

Here are two more cards I've done recently. The first is another card I made from the fantastic snowflake paper from DCWV Christmas stack. I am truly loving this stack! I used my Cricut to cut the Die cut shapes for the sentiment (storybook) and snowflake (graphically speaking). I used the a TPC studio stamp for the sentiment. The cuttlebug for texture and stickles to finish it off. Oh the ribbon came from Michael's last year..I love that too~!

The second card I made yesterday was this Noel Card. I used the same DCWV christmas stack for the gold paper and the Cricut Christmas solutions cartridge for all other cuts. I used the cuttlebug swirls folder for texture again. I had some lace in my stash and gold ribbon and I thought it worked well with the angel. Using the Cricut has made my life so much easier while making Christmas cards.

That's all I have for now....TFL!

Reindeer Christmas Card

Another card made for a friend's daughter. I made this using the Gypsy wanderings cart and the new Dcwv Christmas papers. I'm loving the polka dots! I embossed the card with cuttlebug folders and the ribbon is from Michaels. TFL! (Still posting via cellphone so I apologize for the separate posts and cellphone pics)

Snowflake Christmas card

Worked on some Christmas cards tonight for a friend of ours daughters. I used a Dcwv stack for the snowflake paper (isn't that red yummy) and used my cricut Christmas solutions cart for the snowflake. I finished it off with stickles in stardust. Tfl!

Sports superstar!

December is full of birthdays for me starting with my youngest kiddo, then my mom, my neighbor and then my nephew...that's just the start but since my nephew lives the farthest I wanted him to have his card done so it gets to him in time. This kid is all about sports and outdoors so I thought this MM paper would work perfectly along with an page kit from colorbok called perfect pages all boy.  I added some hardware from stampin up and twine. I really hope he likes it!

With Sympathy

My son's teacher just lost a family member so I whipped up this card last night. As I have said before I hate having to make sympathy cards but unfortunately its unavoidable :(. The best thing about this card is I used nothing but scraps and odds and ends I've saved from other projects so it went together very quickly. I share these cards and what I have come up with since there isn't a lot of examples of sympathy cards out there. I'm also entering this card in the Moxie Fab World Card Creations: Favorite Occasions week all occasion challenge. Here is the link to the challenge if you would like to join~ http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/11/card-creations-favorite-occasions-week.html

Christmas 2009

I was inspired to finally finish a layout I started in September of this year. I haven't ever before left a layout unfinished but I had started this at a hobby night and my mojo had disappeared. Boooo...so it sat on my craft table for awhile.....I got re-inspired by the Christmas solutions cartridge that I got for FREE because I have a Gypsy. That totally rocked! I so wanted to play and since the season is coming fast like a freight train I figured that I should try and finish it. I not "thrilled" with it but at least I can call it done. :)

May the Lord bless and keep you

I made this card for a sweet lady at church that just lost her Mother. I hate it when I have to make sympathy cards. I thought this flower of a cricut cart was fitting. Tfl!

One Hour challenge layout finished :)

Every week Club CK hosts a one hour challenge on their blog. This is the first time I attempted one of their challenges so to say the least I was scrambling lol...to top it off they asked us to make a photo standout by adding a stamped border or frame. Ummmm..I don't know what possessed me to partake because I am a level 1 stamper...I don't like cleaning the inky mess so I hardly stamp. I always try to get out of my comfort zone so here is my take. I am rather happy with the outcome! I might just have to break out my stamps more often! Tfl!

First day of school layout

I'm finally got the mojo to scrap a layout! Hooray! I haven't done a layout since the Halloween one that I posted awhile ago. Seems I entered card making land again...as fun as it is I eventually need to scrap the pictures I've accumulated :).  This is of my son's first day of fourth grade. I still am in disbelief that he is so grown up! It seems he is older to me since he is so tall,so teenageresque. *sigh* I'm so proud of my little boy. I made this layout using reminisce makin the grade patterned paper. It was double sided so I used both sides. I also used for the background paper, cardstock and measuring stick dcwc (hittin the books stack).  As always Tfl!
Ps hope y'all had a great Halloween, we sure did!

Diggin on Damask

Here is another card for another cool challenge at the Moxie Fab world blog www.moxiefabworld.com. This challenge asked you to use the Damask pattern in an innovative way. Seeing that pattern reminded me of some old glass metallic ornaments that we used to hang on our Christmas tree when I was growing up. I used the Cricut to cut all parts of this card.  You still have time to join this challenge as the deadline in November 8th! Hope you play along!

Perfectly Placed Pleats...

Say that 10 times fast! Lol...I was as always inspired by a challenge at the moxie fab world blog to use pleats on a project. I recently learned how to make cute paper roses and flowers and decided to use them on this framed decoration. I love how these little flowers turn out! I'm on a serious no money for anything scrappy right now so DIY is right up my alley! I had a picture frame where the glass broke, no need to waste a good picture frame. I sanded the frame a bit and trimmed down my little creation to fit. I used a pleated "ribbon" and the little "sun" to fit in the challenge.  Hope you are inspired! You have until Oct 25th to play if you want!! Just click on the link over on the side.

Another card made with special supplies

This past September I participated in a fall themed swap on the club ck message board.  It was my first time doing this sort of thing and it was so fun! I so enjoyed getting scrappy goodness in the mail all month and also enjoyed sending it out! So here is a card I made using some of the lovely things I got! Tfl!

I can do all things through Christ

My hubby requested I make a card for one of his coworkers. He is a Godly man and I had the perfect stickers from the paper studio found at Hobby Lobby.  I used the rustic stack by dcwv and the cardstock is dcwv also.  The tree and sun were cut using the graphically speaking cricut cart. The flower rub ons are Basic Grey. In my opinion there aren't enough scrapbooking goodies with Scripture so I love that I found this kit. Tfl!

Thank you card

Here is another card I made yesterday for a friend of mine. She wanted a set of cards so she can mail them out when needed. She likes different color combinations and wanted a simple card. She chose the background paper she wanted which is from the green stack by dcwv. I embossed the die cut with the cuttlebug dots folder and I cut the die cut and sentiment using the Storybook cart for the cricut. Tfl!

2010 Halloween cards

Every year I send my niece and nephews Halloween cards. This year one of the ladies from my church lent me the new solutions cartridges for the cricut. So here is what I came up with. The Halloween pp is Recollections and so is the cardstock. The bottom pic is the inside of the trick or treat card and the Beware on black card. Tfl!

Halloween 2009

I captured this picture when my boys were crossing the street to their Grandma's house to show off their costumes. It was such a cute moment! I love all things Halloween and found the paper used at Michael's in the clearance aisle! I was pretty excited, lol It is My Mind's Eye The Spider's Web collection. They had about 5 different papers that had print front and back for like 39 cents a piece so I was pretty happy about that! My cricut got a workout on this layout too. I used the Storybook cartridge to cut the journaling block and the polka dot frames. I used the plantin schoolbook cartridge to cut the tags. The ribbon is from Wal-Mart and was $1.00. Oh and I used the gypsy with the storybook font and welded the word sweet to the accent frame. Hope you like it, I was pretty pleased with this one I decided to frame it and use it as a decoration this year. :)

My first Halloween project for 2010!!

I've been holding myself back from decorating my house for Halloween until Oct 1st.  It has been very hard since I love Halloween! Not the super scary stuff, just the playful, imaginative and all the awesome decorations! I made this card from a prompt from the Fabulous website www.moxiefabworld.com! I love paper crafts magazine so I love the blogs too! On September 9th they challenged everyone to make a card, layout, giftbag, home decor...ok basically anything using offset scallops. Officially it's the MOXIE WORLD CHALLENGE OFFSET SCALLOP GALLOP...(their cute names crack me up) you can still enter if you want or dare {insert diabolical laugh here} you have until Oct 4th at midnight to enter...so here's my take a spooky house..the roof made of offset scallops..I love my little felt pumpkin! The spider and sentiment are studio g stamps..awesome since they are wood and only a buck!! Tfl and I hope you play along!

Little Artist

I came across these pictures last night as I was going through my files. It's amazing how many emotions you can go through while looking through photos. I saw these and immediately had to scrap them! Shane has always been the one that is so quirky...he cracks me up! This basic grey paper seemed so fitting...The journaling reads: Shane, my dear son have kept us on our toes & have kept us laughing! From your backwards mismatched shoes to your crazy curls on your head! September 7,2008.  Tfl!

Sketchy Thursday Challenge!

I used to be part of Julie Bonner's 52 sketches, 52 weeks and I used to get some awesome inspiration from her sketches. When she "retired" that website I didn't use sketches anymore. Well I've been in card making land for awhile and plus my printer was out of ink...booooo...so I hadn't done any layouts in awhile. Well I stumbled across the Sketchy Thursdays website and bookmarked it but hadn't done any of them but I decided this week the time was now...and well I got ink for my printer..lol....so I had the perfect picture for the sketch for this week and jumped in! So, here is the sketch (you can find this at http://sketchythursdays.blogspot.com/)

Here is my rendition of the sketch.....(as you can see I flipped it)

and Look! I layered.....Layering has been a challenge for me and here I took some advice and started small.

So there it is......TFL!!!
Don't forget to stop by Sketchey Thursdays for some awesome inspiration!!

(supplies: All PP is making memories, chipboard is Making Memories, number 3 and half circle is basic grey, ink is harmony colored and white staz on,stickers and star embellies are colorbok, circle is cut with cricut graphically speaking)

The 80's are back!

They are back and very much alive in my soon to be 13 year old niece. She came to visit me this summer along with her brother after not seeing them for 6 years. I had such a blast with both of them and giggled with her at the mall when she pointed out neon clothes and accessories she liked. I swear one of the stores had the exact earrings I wore myself when I was ten! I still think its funny when trends come back. So this card is her 100% my niece...in all its neon glory! Tfl!

Goodbye Summer..Hello Fall Blog Hop!!!!

Welcome to the "Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall!" Blog Hop, hosted by a talented group of ladies from Club Ck ( http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/articles/Club_CK_Info).
If you did not arrive here from Janice's Blog http://janicenovkam.typepad.com/ , please go the the beginning of the hop at Virtually Froggy http://froggy530.blogspot.com/ and follow the blog hop order. By following the blog hop from beginning to end you will collect words to a secret phrase which will make you eligible for the grand prize!!! The details for the grand-prize entry are posted at the start of the blog hop. You won't want to miss it! My project for this blog hop is a couple of cards that I made for my two nephews that both are starting their football season. They both live in another state so I'm not able to go to any of their games..which is a bummer since they are both playing on the same team. One is the quarterback and one is a wide receiver, so to let them know I will be cheering from them from faaaaarrrr away I made them these cards. The first card was made by using my Cricut Expression and The Gypsy. I made the B and the S the same size and made the H a little larger. This was done for both cards. I welded the layer on top using the Gypsy and left the shadow unwelded for simplicity. I used on the white card my argyle embossing folder using the Cuttlebug for texture and made the paw by using ovals and sizing them accordingly. For both cards I used the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge I love how "preppy" that cart is. On the inside (not shown) I cut out Good Luck and used a football rub on to finish it off. I hope you enjoy my cards....The words you are getting from me are "A Fallen" for the next word you can visit Jennifer's blog at http://scrappingreilly.blogspot.com/ Good Luck!!!!!

Reminiscing...

So my parents gave me my senior pictures that they dug out of a picture box about a year ago. I was very active in high school with marching band, concert band, homework and friends. I have never scrapbooked any of this!!! So I thought I would take a trip down memory lane and scrapbook one of my senior pics! Kept this one simple because I want to focus on the picture. I used dcwv cardstock from the jeweled stack and the pp is Me and my big ideas. Tfl!

A new home dec project

I've had a piece of wood that my mom found at a garage sale. It had a painted Santa on it. Since I didn't have a use for it I painted over it in black and created this new piece. I love altering wood for home decor. I wanted to make a plaque for my house using Bible versus that I have had. They came from a page kit from hobby lobby and so did the paper. I used the soloz stamps from studio g which are such better quality than those other studio g sets...love them. I also used a rolled flowers technique to make the little rosettes on top. Hope you like and tfl!!

Here is a card I made for a friend..couldn't get it to lay flat but you get the idea :)...I used my gypsy wanderings cart for the cupcake and storybook for the birthday girl. I used brads and covered them and the sentiment with glossy accents, I love that stuff! I also used stickles on the cupcake...I used a fiskars punch for the edge. The pp,ribbon and rhinestones honestly don't remember..sorry! Tfl!!

A card sparked from a design

I made this card for a couple in our church who are going through a difficult time. I used an idea from a woman on the scrapbooks etc forums hosted by better homes and gardens magazine.  Her sign on name is keithann and she is hosting in the forum a card making one oh one tutorial for beginners. I don't consider myself a beginner but since the board as a whole lacks activity I figured I would join in, in hopes more people will too.  So here is my rendition, thanks ka!

Flag Challenge

On the club ck website they had a virtual camp last week and did all sorts of fun challenges and activities. I wasn't able to really participate then but decided to try a layout anyway. Better late than never right? I had these pics printed out for awhile but didn't know exactly what I wanted to do with them. When I saw the challenge I knew these were perfect! I cut the banner using the george cart by cricut. The font is from the lyrical letters cart. The paper and ribbon is dcwv. I thought I would mimic the washboard using silver metallic paper and for texting I embossed the red pieces of the banner using the swiss dots embossing folder by cuttlebug.  I'm happy with the way it turned out! Tfl!!

The sentiment was cut using the beyond birthdays cart. Ribbon is from Michael's. Tfl!!

Spiderman birthday layouts!

My youngest sons second bday. We didn't have a big party but got him a cake with his favorite character at the time. Everything was all about Spiderman! He loved his cake but didn't eat it lol...he didn't like his hands getting dirty so he had a birthday popsicle instead..I plan on scrapping those pictures too at a later time :). Tfl!!!

Closer look

Here is the first page. I cut the title using my cricut and my gypsy. The letters were cut at 1.22. I used patterned paper from an 8x8 album kit I got at Walmart on clearance for 10!! I tore the paper and stitched with thread to look like webbing. I used Sandylion stickers and backed with cardstock to give more weight and used pop dots to give dimension.

michelle

2nd page of spidey

I used the same sandylion stickers and my cricut for the title. I repeated the same paper and repeated the stitching.

I'm so proud of myself, I took advantage of the rainy day due to hurricane alex and scrapped my day away.  I did a two page layout with school pictures from my nephews and scrapped a page about my dad. Its been a good day! The pp on the boys pages is little yellow bicycle. I have to say I love that paper! The letters were cut using my cricut. Stickers are 7gypsies that I've had 4 evah!!! Tfl!!

Here is the 2nd page.

My dad

A layout of my dad..pp is from a paper kit from hobby lobby..the cs is bazzil. The wisdom sticker is adornit. The branch is cricut cut. The journaling is: my dad has taught me so much. When I was small he taught me how to draw. When I got older he taught me how to change a flat tire. He has taught me strength, pride, hard work and determination will take you far. He taught me "I can't" is not an option and to never say never. Most of all he has shown me how lucky I am to have such a wonderful father.
